Kathryn R. DeSantis, Family Nurse Practitioner, received her first college degree on April 1, 1977 at Brigham Young University – a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development-Family Relations, English and Asian Studies. As a young/single student, with the maiden name of Backus, Kathryn put herself through college by working in the Department of Travel Studies, and attended one of their programs on a Semester Abroad in Jerusalem. While living in Jerusalem, she received a call to serve an LDS mission in Sendai, Japan, thus having unique opportunities in living among and working with people from various cultures. Later, after marrying and raising three children, she pursued professional Nursing studies at the University of Utah. Kathryn earned her Bachelor of Science degree on August 18, 1995, and her Master of Science degree in Nursing on December 17, 1999. She is currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), and is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

After several years of working in hospital, home health and clinic settings, Kathryn’s husband, Christopher C. DeSantis, encouraged her to open her own private practice in the autumn of 2002, and supported her in making that dream become a reality. In the course of having the independence of owning and operating her own clinic, she worked as a Primary Care Provider for both children and adults. By a fortunate sequence of events, Kathryn became aware of the critical need for providers who understand the significance of research conducted as part of the Women’s Health Initiative. Following an intense course of study and research, she expanded her medical practice to include natural weight loss treatments and bio-identical hormone replacement therapies (BHRT) for both men and women, including testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).      Clinic Contact Info
