Check your hormone levels!
As a private practice Nurse Practitioner, I have spent much of my medical career focusing on endocrinology and the balancing of various hormones (including the steroidal ones – estradiol, progesterone, testosterone).
My interest in natural (human-identical or bioidentical) hormones began in the year 2002 when the results of the Women’s Health Initiative research reported significant health risks to women who were using synthetic hormones. These same health risks, however, were NOT found in research results conducted by scientists who were studying the use of bioidentical hormones.
Needless to say, I am a strong proponent of medically monitored hormone balancing through the use of physiologic dosing of natural (human-identical or bioidentical) hormones for both men and women. This note is specifically for females, and is a summary of the most common symptoms that are found throughout the lifespan of a female living today.
If you are struggling with unpleasant symptoms, and have been wondering if those symptoms could be due to your hormones being out of balance, scroll down to the photo illustrating your current age, and see if there are any symptom matches. Keep in mind that there are no definite, pre-defined boundaries for the different stages of a female’s life. There is an overlapping of symptoms from the teenage years clear up through menopause.
Please take note that it’s very important to check your hormone levels before starting any new hormone treatment. Your lab results will show if there is an imbalance, and indicate if any of your hormones are either too high or too low. I recommend saliva testing, and have a website – which can be accessed if you CLICK HERE – dedicated to offering a wide selection of tests, based on your particular health concerns.
